Tot va començar a la festa de final
de curs, les voluntaries que hi havia llavors van regalar als nens un
val per anar a GOA de cap de setmana. No entenien res, anirien a la
platja, en tren, en un hotel???
Van marxar a casa 10 dies de
vacances a veure als avis, tiets, germans, pares... i el 6 de maig ja
els teniem tots a Haribala altre cop, nerviosos per començar
l'excursió.
Molts d'ells no havien agafat mai un
tren, cap havia canviat d'estat i ja no els entendria ningú en
Telugu la seva llengu, hauran de practicar anglès.
El tren una hora tard, els nervis a
flor de pell, i tots a dalt, buscant el seu llit... després de 24
hores entre tren, transbords, jeep vam arribar a la platja, al
principi tots parats, sense dir quasi res, i poc a poc les primeres
reaccions, “que salada”, “pica als ulls”, “ens caurà el
cabell?”
Anem a buscar habitacions, per sort
temporada baixa i tenim tot un hostel per nosaltres, el noi li
encanta la idea de que siguem d'una Ong i ens regala una habitació,
descobreixen les dutxes al sostre, no cal anar omplint galledes...
però arriba el monzó, aquí comença una mica abans que a Andhra
Pradesh, goteres, talls de llum, com a casa.
El noi encarregat ens dóna més
habitacions que no tenen goteres, noves a estrenar amb Aire
condicionat, tot un luxe.
L'endamà tot el dia de platja i
shopping al poble, comprar petits souvenirs per les famílies i per
recordar aquest viatge.
Fotos, milers de fotos, fent
postures davant de l'aigua, els grans volen pujar a la moto aquàtica
i com que van estar tota una setmana pintant el centre mentre els
altres eren a casa descansant els hi regalem un viatget a cada un.

Arriba la nit i toca despedir-se de
la platja, l'endamà a les 6 ja anem cap a l'estació ens espera un
dia a Hubli, una ciutat de l'estat de Karnataka, esperant el tren de
la nit.
Tenim bitllets però no tenim
llits, toca anar a l'estil indi, seient on es pot i cada vegada que
hi ha una parada rehibindicar el teu lloc, tornem poc a poc a la
realitat, arribem fets pols a Nandyal i allà ens separem per tornar
cada un al seu poble, fins al juny que comença un nou curs...
Esperem que hagin disfrutat
moltissim d'aquesta aventura.
I fins la propera.
Todo comenzó
en la fiesta de fin de curso , las voluntarias que había entonces
regalaron a los niños un vale para ir a GOA de fin de semana . No
entendían nada , irían a la playa , en tren , en un hotel ?
Se fueron a
casa 10 días de vacaciones a ver a los abuelos , tíos , hermanos ,
padres ... y el 6 de mayo ya los teníamos todos en Haribala de
nuevo, nerviosos por comenzar la excursión .
Muchos de
ellos no habían cogido nunca un tren , ninguno había cambiado de
estado y ya no los entendería nadie en Telugu su lengua , deberan
practicar inglés .
El tren una
hora tarde , los nervios a flor de piel , y todos arriba, buscando su
cama ... después de 24 horas entre tren , transbordos , jeep...
llegamos a la playa , al principio todos parados , sin decir casi
nada , y poco a poco las primeras reacciones , "que salada "
, "pica en los ojos" , " nos caerá el cabello? "
Vamos a buscar
las habitaciones , por suerte temporada baja y tenemos todo un hostel
para nosotros , el chico le encanta la idea de que seamos de una Ong
y nos regala una habitación , descubren las duchas en el techo , no
hay que ir llenando cubos ... pero llega el monzón , aquí empieza
un poco antes que en Andhra Pradesh , goteras , cortes de luz , como
en casa .
El chico
encargado nos da más habitaciones que no tienen goteras , nuevas a
estrenar con Aire acondicionado , todo un lujo .
Por la mañana
todo el día de playa y shopping en el pueblo , comprar pequeños
souvenirs para las familias y para recordar este viaje .
Fotos , miles
de fotos, haciendo posturas frente al agua , los grandes quieren
subir a la moto acuática y como estuvieron toda una semana pintando
el centro mientras los demás estaban en casa descansando les
regalamos un viaje a cada uno . Heroes de la película por unos
momentos .
Llega la noche
y toca despedirse de la playa, por la mañana a las 6 ya vamos hacia
la estación nos espera un día en Hubli , una ciudad del estado de
Karnataka , esperando el tren de la noche .
Tenemos
billetes pero no tenemos camas , toca ir al estilo indio , sentándote
donde se puede y cada vez que hay una parada rehibindicar tu sitio ,
volvemos poco a poco a la realidad , llegamos hechos polvo a Nandyal
y allí nos separamos por volver cada uno a su pueblo , hasta junio
que comienza un nuevo curso ...
Esperamos que
hayan disfrutado muchísimo de esta aventura .

The idea started in the end of year party, when the volunteers who were
here by then gave to the children a voucher to go to GOA for a weekend. At the
beginning they didn’t understand anything… the idea of going to the beach,
travel by train and staying in a hotel was so far of their minds.
All started in the celebration of
the end of the course, the volunteers were then, gave the children a voucher to
go to GOA's weekend. They did not understand anything, would they go to the
beach, travel by train and stay in a hotel?
After that, they left home for 10 days holiday to visit their grandparents,
uncles, brothers, parent… By the 6th of May they were all back to
Haribala again, and feeling very excited about the trip.
Many of them had never taken a train, never went outside their state,
and no-one would understand them talking their language –Telugu. So it was time
to practise their English!
The train arrived an hour later, everyone was very nervous. Once the
train arrived everyone looked for their reserved junk bed... after 24 hours travelling
by train, transfers, and in a jeep finally we arrived to the beach. At the beginning
all of them were on shock, they couldn’t say anything until the first reactions
such: too much salt, the eyes are itching, is our hair going to fall?
We searched for rooms, and luckily was low season and we had a whole all
hostel for us , the guy who was running the place loved the idea that we are an
NGO and gave us an extra room. The children discover the showers hanging from
the ceiling for first time – here is not necessary to fill buckets...
But…the monsoon arrived, in this area, it starts a bit earlier than in
Andhra Pradesh. We know what it means; leaks, power outages… like at home,
sweet home.
The guy in charge gave us rooms without leaks, almost new, and with air
conditioning , a luxury for us.
The day before, we spent all day at the beach and shopping in the
village, buying small souvenirs for families and to remember this trip.
And pictures, we took thousands of pictures, posing on water.
The oldest ones where asking for water-bike, and as they were painting
the center for a week while the others were resting at home, they got a small
trip each one as a gift . They were feeling like the heroes of the movies.
Night comes and is time to say goodbye to the beach. The following day at
6 am we headed to the train station we spent a day in Hubli, a city of
Karnataka state, waiting for the night train.
We had the train tickets, but not for beds this time, so we had to go on
Indian-style; take the first seat you see and whenever there is a stop protect
your place. It was a slowly way back to the reality. We arrived very exhausted to
Nandyal. From there, everyone returned to their villages until June, to begin a
new school year ...
We hope they have enjoyed very much this adventure.
